What I did was erase and format the drive to mac os extended and then went to restore and used a mac os x DVD image to restore to the HD. Now the HD is the DVD image lol. Opops stupid mistake I know, but now I can't erase or reformat the drive and its impossible to install Os x with any version I've tried. Btw I don't have a time machine back-up.

Any help on how to format or install Os x would be much appreciated.

PS please excuse my bad english.

Try with an actual OS X DVD and not an image. That is how Mac install from a bootable DVD!
