Airport Problems

Hi there,

I'm using a macbook 13inch running osx 10.6.8.

I had problems with my buildin airport saying it wasnt installed after installing an update.

I now tried to reinstall OSX but now the airport icon doesn't even show up in the menu bar or in system preferences/network.

It does exist in the "about mac"/"more info" list.

Does anyone here have a clue what i can do to get it back in there?
