I have posted about this problem earlier, but wanted to include the data from the logs.

I would like to be able to run TimeMachine on-demand (manually). I want to start a backup and when it finishes turn off TM. However, TM stops and just few minutes later starts up again for what seems to be a very long time. I have copied the backup data from the system log and posted it below. Unless I just sit and watch it continuously I do not see it complete.

Further, why is it taking so long to complete such small backups? I have spent 2 days on this without success.

I have tried two USB powered Hard Drives (one with an external A/C adapter, the other bus powered).

Do I need to call customer support?

Can someone please tell me if what is happening is normal or do I have a problem with my system?

Thanks, Mike

I finally had to do a Lion restore to get it to work. It now works correctly.
