Hello all! Longtime lurker here finally come out to ask a question...be gentle! ;)

I have mid-2010 2.66 Core Duo 13" Macbook Pro that I have just tried to install 8gb (2 X 4gb) of RAM into but it doesn't seem to work.

Is this memory compatible with my computer?
Buffalo PC3-10600 S.O. DIMM A3N 1333MHz.

Do I need an older (slower) type of memory? 1066MHz? Not sure why it didn't work.

Thanks in advance to everybody.

The Buffalo memory modules are not the correct type for your machine as they are too fast. Macs are fussy about memory.

You need to use the slower (1066 MHz) modules.
