durable spine?

this is pure physics. how much can you extend the spine of the 12" ibook without breaking anything. the reason for this question is that when i am in bed i have to extend the screen way back to get my eyes adjusted to it. when i do not do this i cannot see what is on screen properly, it goes all bright and out of focus.

Well, not an accurate reading as I don't have a protractor right here but I would say about 110 degrees from closed position.

I don't think the spine would extend that much. What you probably should do if you're willing to alter the iBook is to make a stand for the screen, unclip the screen, and put it on the stand.

i know my pb documents said somewhere in the manual to 'not move screen farther than XX ammount' ....check it out and see if you can find it there
