Thinking about upgrading

I was thinking about upgrading my OS to Tiger and was wondering if there is any difference from apple.com if I get Tiger at the student rate or at regular pricing.

Also if I were to come across the pirated OSX Tiger x86 software from bittorrent would I still be able to receive updates?

there is no difference between the store and online versions

no you cant update the x86 pirate version because apple has patched it so you cant
