move icon from desktop

I've been playing with my daughter's MacBook Pro, and accidentally got placed an icon depicting a HD with the text "Macintosh HD" on her desk - how do I remove it?

This needs moving to an appropriate thread please mods.

To answer your question:
- Open Finder
- Open Preferences from the Finder menu on the Menu Bar (top left of your screen)
- On the General 'tab' you can toggle the display of disks on the desktop
