I have a Mac Book Pro early 2009 running Lion. The CD Rom drive will not accept discs. It acts like something is stuck in there but there is nothing in there. It will only let me insert the disc about 1/3 of the way then it stops. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Welcome to Mac-Forums tiff

Sounds like the slot loader has died, best course of action is if you are still covered under AppleCare then get it replaced. If you are not covered this can be expensive to get replaced. If you are happy enough to take your macbook apart then you could buy a new one and replace it yourself, or the other option would be to get an external drive, which can sometimes be cheaper, plus they are plug and play.

Hope this helps
