Got a mac a few weeks ago. I don't understand how these two programs work together.

In Windows I just used the PS organizer. It worked well and I liked it. With the Mac I have been using iPhoto. Mainly because my wife automatically imports all the photos because you can't view the pics as a slide show until they are on the computer. Kind of annoying, but ok. After some monkying around I figured out how to make albums and groups and have everything sorted pretty nicely.

My photo's take up about 21 gb's of space. I wanted to work on something in PS. For some reason iPhoto does not show the file names nor even that a photo exists in Finder. So I imported the iPhoto catalog into the PSE Organizer. So basically I duplicated everything on the hard drive. Which means I have now used 42 gb's of space. Obviously that isn't acceptable.

So anyone have any pointers for me. I'd like to keep using iPhoto. I have Lightroom in the mail to so I will be using that soon as well.

Thanks

I use Aperture, but I believe the same applies to iPhoto. In iPhoto preferences you set up Adobe PSE as an external editor. Then to use Adobe all you have to do is choose edit in Adobe PSE from a drop down menu.
