I don't mean externally. What do you guys do to rid your Mac of useless stuff?

I personally use Xslimmer for application junk, MacKeeper for duplicates and language clutter, and onyX to perform more advanced cleaning.

What else do you guys recommend?

Onyx does everything I need for maintenance. MacKeeper is basically garbage and tends to create more problems than it solves. The only other tool I recommend is AppleJack, which is handy if you can't get OS X to boot.

Elaborate... What damages does MacKeeper cause exactly? I know the duplicates finder can delete intentional backup files, but what about the "fast cleanup" deleting binaries and language clutter, etc?

MainMenu for me. This is the free (and still very good App) so don't update it or it will take you to the latest .v 2.1.2 and will ask for $. I was happy to hand it over.

Google MacKeeper Problems . . . . . Enough said.

and onyX to perform more advanced cleaning.

Since you have Oynx for advance cleaning then you have no need for MacKeeper. If you decide to get rid of it, you will have problems trashing, so google on how to delete it completely.

HTH

Cheers
