Apple message

I got an email from apple about a new software available. It's been in my mailbox for weeks and I can't delete it. What's up with that?

Where in your mailbox? Are you using Apple Mail or just through the browser? If it is Mail, I'd try to go through a browser, log into your email account and try to get rid of it through that.

It's in my inbox through gmail. I've tried all methods I know to get rid of it but it's like a houseguest who won't leave. I had one before and it stayed there for about a week then disappeared. It just bugs me. Thanks for the info.
