Always brought glossy would I regret buying matte..

Hello everyone,

My last three macs have all been with the glossy screen. I'm a teacher and my laptop is my main computer at school and at home. I mostly use my computer for office suite, logic, garage band, web browsing and some movie viewing. I honestly never had major issues with the glossy screen, I am mostly in doors and I have found that when I do have glare, a little tilt of the screen usually resolves the issue.

But I am curious, I did go to the mac store and it looked good. I don't notice the huge difference in contrast and color depth and to be honest liked it. There both good just different like a granny smith and a golden delicious

Few questions?
1. Are matte screen more fragile than the glass version?

2. Should I just get glossy and add the matte film?

3. How many people who have had glossy and gone matte regretted it?

4. Should I just go matte and don't go back?

Forgot to mention I am considering the hires anyway, its just getting the glossy versus the matte.

As one that is extremely sensitive to the glare issue of glossy displays - I just bought the first gloss screen I've owned (TV or computer monitor) in well over 15 years - and there has been a ton of them during that time...

Exactly why would you even consider paying an up charge for the matte display if you have no issue with the glossy display? Guess I don't understand why this is even a question.

It's obviously a personal preference - but if you like the matte - get it. I know I can't imagine using a glossy near a window or on a plane - the matte is a great all around display.

Here's the thing. I bought the glossy to a. save the extra money and b. I could get a high-quality screen protector with a matte finish. (I have to dig the web addy out, but I had one on a different PC.) and since it was removeable, I would not be stuck with one or the other.

I am glad I went with the Glossy. 99.9999% of my use is indoors so reflections are nominal. It is bright, clear and just looks nice.
