Do i need to insert windows disc to enable partitioning of startup disk?
I have tried opening Boot Camp assistant but get this message :

"The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows".

I don't seem to be able to get past this stage of the process.

Regards

The error is telling you that your hard drive does not have enough contiguous free space to create the Boot Camp partition. (Drive is fragmented.) Either that or you already have two partitions on the disk.
