All of a sudden today I have started getting weird lines on my screen, after switching on & off it may work ok for a short while & then come back again - any ideas?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Depends what model Mac you have, and you really should share that information with us. if it is a G5 PowerMac or Mac Pro, open her up and make sure the graphics card is properly seated. If another model, run Apple Hardware Test from the original system install discs as this checks out the graphics card.

Take a screenshot of your desktop and look at it. If it shows the same thing as you're seeing, it's likely a bad graphics card.
