No worries mate just hope they give me something in the next update.
Appreciate you looking anyway.

This is getting frustrating lol

Anyone that is running Lion with a MB/MBP/MBA that should have the option can you just check your preference and see if you do have it.

Cheers

I'm in exactly the same boat as TattooedMac. I have 2010 MBP 13" that I recently upgraded to Lion. So I'm watching my Apple TV2 and I move the remote around, it's affecting my MBP as well. So, like TattooedMac, I went to unpair the device from my MBP and.... no go. There's no remote control option. It's completely missing.

I just walked over to my 2011 Mac Mini and it exhibits the issue, no setting for the Remote.

Both systems of mine are running 10.7.1. This is really odd. It's not in System Preferences like it shows in SL.

If I find any answer, I'll post it back here. Very odd...

You didn't do a clean install either, did you....

Ok, so I found the solution for me. Perhaps this is the solution for TattooedMac.

Apparently the culprit was an application called Candelair that I had installed under Snow Leopard. I was running a very old version of it (like 1.2). Once I upgraded it (took two upgrades), everything was working again and the option to pair/unpair the remote was available once again in System Preferences.

Let this be a lesson to all of us knuckleheads who did not do a clean install. I have not done an in-place upgrade since Windows 98 SE. Why did I think this would be any different. ;-)

BTW, hat tip to cegomez in this post for the solution.

Great call Steve NYC! Way to go. Tattoo, glad that fixed your issue. I had never heard of Candelair.
