Okay, so I have an old iMac G3, which I am planning on turning into a fishbowl. I've gutted the CRT, but I see that the power supply is integrated into the CRT board.
Here's a pic of the board:

What I was wondering was where, exactly, IS the power supply on the board, as well as if I could just use the board as-is, sans CRT? I don't want any high voltages being spun up, and the anode thing is on the board. Is that what creates the high voltages? Can it be removed? Does it need to be? Howbout those obtrusive heatsinks?
I've seen the 'eyemac' G3 LCD conversion, which has a tutorial for converting the thing to atx. However, I have a bit of difficulty following that tutorial...
Any suggestions?

Just curious, if you're planning on turning it into a fishbowl, why does it matter? Can't you just "tear it out" of the iMac casing?

This was my first thought as well.

Haha

Yes, sorry, should've explained. I would like to keep the computer functional (and possibly integrate an LCD display). It's a DV model, so it has a vga out and I thus don't have to mess with the internal video connections.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. As far as an LCD conversion for the G3 goes, it sound like it's going to be quite a little project.

You've already gutted the CRT, have you removed it completely? Maybe you could fit a smaller 15" LCD monitor directly into the case, and use the external VGA out as an input source for the monitor.

As for your power supply question, I'm really not sure. I've never even seen somebody attempt this before.
