Help!

Just got a new macbook pro, upgraded to Lion... every time I open word, excel, preview, anything... it opens up old files I opened that day. How do I turn that off?

So for example if I opened a pdf at 10am for food, close it, then open another pdf at 11am about dogs, the food one opens and then the dog one..

Help!

There's a setting in Finder > Preferences ... (I'm not at a Mac with Lion.)

Or, you can close the window before you Quit the application.

System Preferences -> General Category. Remove the check from the small box that says: "Restore windows when quitting................"

Surprisingly, even with that setting unchecked, TextEdit still opens old documents which had not yet been saved on launch. Kind of annoying and nice at the same time. Just something new to get used to.

And yes, I could close the windows before quitting Textedit, but more often than not I find myself hitting the chord to shut down and just closing everything at once.
