Hi Everyone,

Was having some trouble with my powermac g4 not booting into OSX so formatted the hard disks and re-installed it back in OS9.

Now I am trying to upgrade back to OSX and every time the system restarts and boots off the OSX CD or when I run the installation software the system comes up with a "please restart your computer message in multiple languages"

Then when i restart it comes up with the same message again.

Any ideas the system used to work in OSX fine?

Firmware up to date? Depending on the model G4 which you never supplied, should perhaps read version 4.2.8. If you need to update, have to do this whilst running OS 9 before proceeding to OS X install.

Why did you go back to OS9? You lost all the firmware updates. Some models of G4's require the right firmware update and the OS update to 9.2.1. Your OSX disc needs to be a full install disc as well.
