- 2010 15" i7 HR AG MBP, 2009 17" AG MBP,2009 8core 2.26 MP,2010 quad MP,17" 2007MBP,macs back to 1985
None of my current machines have a SATA III port. Ill need 2 of the chosen SSD, one for my 2010 MBP one for my 2009 MBP.
I can get the Crucial M4 256GB for 320 Euros and the 300GB Intel 320 series for 385 Euros.
Which one would be the better choice?? I thought that if I get the M4 I could put it into my future systems which will have a SATA III port, and benefit from the full speed of the SSD. That way its more "future proof" but that isn't really an important factor for me.
Would the Intel last longer, people always say that Intel is very good quality, low failure rates. How do these drives compare theoretically in terms of life time, speed degradation etc. If i would pay 65€ more for 50 more GB on the Intel and nothing else then I wouldn't get it, however if I would be paying 65€ more for a overall better drive and 50 more GB then it would be worth it. Which drives would you people buy considering the price difference of 65€.
Also would these be good deals?
I need SSD's in this capacity because I am not doing an optibay in my notebooks so I need a fairly large main internal drive.
Another question, but not as important as the one above: For my Mac Pros I probably don't need this much capacity, so I was looking around and found the Xtreem S-1 SSD's by Team Group. Ive not seen anything about these on forums or elsewhere but they seem pretty good. Spec sheets sound promising. I found the 120GB for 160 euros. Are these a good choice? Does anyone know anything about these SSD's?
Thanks guys, important right now is the SSD for my notebooks, my mac pros are quick enough at the moment actually
cheers
