I finally figured out aliases and symbolic links (been a long while since I did Unix and Linux). However, I have an alias that will not go away.

It is located on the applications screen (Lightroom 3.app alias) on the user side, but does not show up in the Finder or PathFinder. If I right click it, the Lightroom app starts. I have created an alias and deleted it and that did not work. If it is on the screen, it should be somewhere.

How can I delete it?

Thanks

Mike

By "Applications Screen" what exactly do you mean? Is that the window that pops up when you click on Applications folder on the Dock? If so, use Finder instead to go to the Applications folder and delete from there.

I click Launchpad and it shows me screens with icons for all my applications. One of those icons is an Alias for Lightroom (although the icon does not have an image). The alias is not listed in Finder or PathFinder. It cannot be deleted.

Try holding down the "command" key while dragging it off the Launchpad screen to the Trash.

Apple Customer Support walked me through deleting Dock in Library which solved the issue.
