I've recently upgraded to the new OS X Lion, and wanted to also upgrade my bootcamp which was originally Vista, to Windows 7 (64bit).

I deleted the previously installed partition, and re-partitioned it to install windows 7.

Successfully partitioned it and everything, and installed it.

But when I proceeded to install the windows support, it loaded everything until when it's about to complete installation, the BSOD (Blue-screen of death) comes up. Tried restarting and re-installing the support, but to no avail.

I tried deleting the partition and reinstall windows all over again, but the same thing happens when i try to install the support.

Any advice?

Thanks!

What year model is your Mac? And which version of OS X are you running?

Think I'd suggest trying your Snow Leopard disc to install the drivers for an '08 model.

This was the message shown.

Now when I try to start Windows 7 up, before I could log in, this blue screen will appear

Can you access Safe Mode? (F8) - more info is available on the fourth paragraph.

Hey! Thanks guys for your help.

It wasn't bootcamp that was causing the problem, in-fact bootcamp 4.0 works fine on my 08' macbook pro.

The problem really was because of Windows.
I believe it was the version that caused the problem.

The version that I first tried installing was the (Windows 7 debugged/checked with Service pack 1). I thought it had all the updates and all so I decided to install that version. Upon installing, they had an additional feature that actually allows you to choose what version of windows 7 you want, (example: Home edition, enterprise, ultimate, etc.) But it gave me problems when installing bootcamp driver, even the 2.1 version.

So I tried installing the 'clean' version of Windows 7 professional.
IT WORKED FINE!
Installed bootcamp driver 4.0, in no time!
Finally! :D
