My 1st gen macbook air bloated

I was using my mac book to watch a movie and suddenly i hear a pop, i thought nothing was wrong but when i tried closing it after turning it off, i noticed the keyboard had bloated and i couldn't close it, i don't know what happened.

My guess is that one of the cells in the battery burst, blowing it up like a balloon. If there's an Apple store near you, I'd take it by and have the Geniuses look at it. It might be something Apple engineering would want to capture for evaluation. If so, it could mean a new computer for you.

Try compressing some of your files. It looks full to me. ;)




Seriously though... it looks like a battery failure. Hopefully, it's still under Applecare.

Agreed!

It's the battery. Nothing else could do that and as thin as the Air is, that makes sense. Take it to Apple ASAP.

Which Air did you get Bob? I was at Best Buy and played with the new i5 13" Air. Really liked it. It was the only Mac there with Lion installed. Seemed quite snappy.
