MacBook Black 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM 320gb 7200rpm HDD Snow Leopard
Here are the specs of my macbook:

2.4 Ghz
2 GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Duo
GMA X3100 Graphics
Max Res: 1280x800
Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB41.00C1.B00
SMC Version (system): 1.31f1
2008 model Black

I'm just wondering what upgrades can be done? I know I can get more RAM, is mine one that can handle 6gb?
I think the max hard drive I can get is 500gb.
The next question may be ridiculous but here goes, I know the graphics card is soldered and therefore not upgradeable, my question is can I upgrade the whole logic board? Like one from a newer macbook/MBP?

Any other upgrades/mods are welcome suggestions (minus getting a new mac as I lack $ )

Your Black MacBook memory can be upgraded to 6 GB; that would be 1 x 4 GB and 1 x 2 GB modules. Apple says 4 GB but MacTracker says 6 GB.

Max size hard drive right now would be either a WD or Seagate 750 GB. Anything larger will not fit because of the excess thickness of the drive.

Changing the logic board could possibly wind up costing you as much as a new MBP - even if you could make it work.

THanks you so much for the help. Now for a 2nd part about memory, with this macbook black can I use "SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)" or (stupid question i'm sure) can I use ddr3? I see both of these on sales on Tigerdirect/Newegg

No...

You cannot put DDR3 memory into a DDR2 memory slot - first, because it will not fit - the slot on the memory is in a different location; second, because it uses a 20% lower voltage than DDR2 - so even if it did fit, it's possible you could damage it with too high a voltage; and third, because it has features which a DDR2 board does not support.
