feb 2008 15" macbook pro, matte screen
can see a strange circle thing where the apple logo is if viewing on a dark background, came up just recently
you can see it on the picture (created a black square in photoshop), a light circle with a line going across it

it's to do with the backlight i reckon, you can't see it when you turn down the backlight or when looking at the screen with a light background:

that's my guess
(sorry about the rubbish iphone photos)
maybe somebody had a similar problem of some spots "behind" the screen or something
