iTunes barely works on iPhone

iTunes goes down at least once a day when I need it on my iPhone. Even when I'm connected through a strong connection at home, it doesn't work so I know it's on their end. The error that pops up is "Cannot connect to iTunes store."

Need more info. . .

- What type of iPhone? (e.g: iPhone 3Gs)
- Carrier? (e.g: AT&T)
- OS Version (e.g: 4.2.1)

it's the latest iphone synced to the latest imac.

Just to be clear: are we talking about the iPod app, the iTunes Store app or the App Store App?

iTunes Store app

First thing to do: on the iPhone, go to Settings, scroll down to "Store," and check that your Apple ID is correct.
