Option->double click not working to download file

I'm following advice on threads and google to download an flv file using safari-> activity and holding the option then double click but it's not doing anything..how do I download an flv file on mac?

This depends where you're trying to get them from. A download link should be provided if the file is meant to be downloaded. If not, the web designer may have purposely made it hard to download the file on purpose. What are you trying to download?

it appeared that nothing was happening but when I opened the download folder it was indeed downloading it.thx
