Hey guys,

My computer won't turn, the green led light in the MagSafe doesn't come on when it's connected to the comp. I know the battery has at least 25% left on it and that the outlet is working.

I was doing some disk cleaning the other night, and I am thinking that I deleted a startup file or something because nothing happens when I push the power button. The computer is fully turned off. I have no idea what my next step should be.

I don't really want to reinstall the os for fear of deleting all of my files, not to mention I wouldn't know how to do it with not having power to comp.

Any ideas before I take it to the apple store would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Sounds more like a hardware problem. Even if you deleted a system file in error, the machine should still start up. Since you didn't give us any information about your Mac, that's about all I can offer. If it's still under warranty or Apple care, take it on in to your local Apple store.

What other information do you need? It's about 4 to 5 years old and I think my apple care just ran out (go figure).

I have to drive by the apple store on my way home from work so I can stop then. It worked fine on Wednesday, and then last night when I tried to startup.... No response.

My computer won't turn...

Do you have any idea how many Macintosh computers Apple has released since 1984???...that's why we need more info to help you out!

To the best of my knowledge...at the most...Applecare is 3 years. So if it's been about 4-5 years...the Applecare ran out long ago!

1. My computer won't turn, the green led light in the MagSafe doesn't come on when it's connected to the comp.
2. I know the battery has at least 25% left on it
3. It worked fine on Wednesday, and then last night when I tried to startup.... No response.
4. nothing happens when I push the power button.

Based on the information above, my guess would be a bad power adapter, bad battery or both. I'd have the store test it with a known good battery and power adapter and go from there.
