Power PC scanner driver on Lion

Should I uninstall power pc drivers when upgrading to Lion? For example, I installed the driver for HP Scanjet 3970 (a power pc driver) when using Snow Leopard, and then ugraded to Lion; the scanner is now incompatible because Rosetta is not supported, but is the driver still in the system? Should I delete this driver? If so, how do I do this? And what happened to Rosetta that was currently on the machine? Is it still on there somewhere, but it just doesn't function?

As you know and can see from this link the drivers will never work with Lion, so remove them. HP, ,like Lexmark, are extremely slow updating drivers to suit Mac OS systems, if at all alas.

Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 3970 Scanner Driver and Software

I had a similar issue with my old CanonScan N676U scanner. All the Canon drivers are still PPC and I don't see them updating them anytime soon.

A quick Google search turned up this gem and I bought the basic version, cheaper than a new scanner at least.

VueScan is great - usually much better than the regular drivers.
