No it won't slow it down and your Dad is completely incorrect for both Mac and PC.

Lets go specific.

Computers are designed to run programs. Games are programs. Minecraft therefore, is a program. Computer is designed to run Minecraft.

Minecraft isnt even a demanding program. You are fine. If your Macbook ever starts shutting off unexpectedly, come back.

What specifics do you need? It won't slow your machine down or ruin it.

Seems pretty clear.

Your dad is making stuff up. Send him here if he disagrees because I'm sure we'd all love to hear his reasoning.

Can i ask another question here that is somewhat related please? Instead of making a new forum. I want to say that the macbook pro is supposed to have a 10 hour battery life, yet I play mine craft for 1 and a half hours, and my computer is already out of battery...lol why?

thats 10 hours with the backlight turned off, keyboard backlight turned off, and nothing running.

real world your looking at 5-6 hours browsing etc, gaming, around 2 hours.

Let me make an analogy...

- If you run as fast as you can...how far can you go?
- If you walk at an easy pace...how far can you walk?

Playing games on a computer can be like running (very demanding/less battery life)...surfing the internet (no videos) is like walking (much less demanding/longer battery life).

HTH,

- Nick
