Hi all,

Like the title says, I'm looking for a simple text editor that has the possibility to open multiple files in the same window and can perform search and replace in all the open files. I am using textwrangler right now but I'm not to keen to use it. Does anyone know of a good alternative? I always used editpad light on my Windows PC but I've recently switched to OS X

Thanks for any suggestions and help
Ron

Smultron is what I use. Make sure you download the correct version for the version of OS X you're running. (It's free)

Note that Smultron 4 is $5 in the App Store.

As an aside, I thought Smultron was no longer under active development. In fact, it was forked (as Fraise). After doing a search, it looks as if Fraise is no longer under development and Smultron is back. It's a little confusing! I've since moved to TextWrangler for my coding needs but it's always nice to see other projects alive and under active development.

Thanks Van. I didn't even notice that it's now $4.99. I got my copy when it was free. But even at $4.99 it's a bargain for what it does.

Evidently I need to pay more attention for bargains like this. You're not the first person to mention getting free software! :)
