MP4 to AVI?

So Handbrake won't do AVI's anymore and I"m pretty ticked off as that's the only format that will play through my DVD player....

I need something that will rip my DVD's and convert them to AVI's (like Handbrake USED to do). I then take those AVI's and burn them onto a DVD as a Data Disc. This allows my DVD player to play all 6 movies in sequence without having to load and unload each DVD from my library.

So now what program can I use to convert the MP4's to AVI's? My DVD player is unsupportive of anything else.

Alright I figured it out on Handbrake.... I can still view MP4's if they are converted to MPEG-4 instead of the H.264 <--- that doesn't work on my player.
