Hello, folks.
So I just got back from being out of town for six weeks and was surprised to find that my 2002 G4 desktop wouldn't turn on. When I pressed the power button, it would light up, but the computer would not start.
I recalled having an issue with this model where the battery had died, so I went to an electronics store and bought a new 3.6v battery.
This changed things: the computer will now begin to power up, make the start up sound but, before the monitor comes on, it shuts off again.
Any ideas? I took it to a Mac specialist and they said they don't service "antiques."
