iMac memory question

i moved a whole load of iMovie files to an external drive to free up some HD space (approx 65Gb moved across). However when i ran a check on amount of memory available on the iMac, it still showed the same amount =as before i moved the files to the external drive?????

This is driving me mad... what do i need to do to clean this up?

As to your question: Did you empty the trash? Also, memory is not the same as hard drive space, many folks confuse the two.
