What's the best program to clean temp files, history

What is the best prog to clean temp files, history, internet snippets, etc for ones hard drive?

Most around here will recommend OnyX as an effective tool. Make sure you get the right version for your OS and note that the Lion version is still in beta.

I use CleanMAC and it does a pretty good job removing those localization files... look for it on sale... I got mine real cheap in one of those bulk packages

Be careful with removing localization files and PPC code (assuming this is still pertinent for you). It can cause problems down the road.

you are right, but I would say for an average user that might not be a problem. I know I have got into trouble when I was messing with some files around but most users don't play with library files ;)

Can anyone recommend Mackeeper ? or does Onyx do the job as well. Sorry I am a real newb.

For the average user, it could be worse. Apps like Monolingual have known issues that prevent Office and Adobe products from working properly.

Can anyone recommend Mackeeper ? or does Onyx do the job as well. Sorry I am a real newb.
Stick with OnyX.
