Help. My Desktop folder somehow ended up in the trash and I can't get it out.
I can copy it but then lose the system icon on it. Also, I don't remember where it belongs if I am able to get it out. I don't have a backup of my system, yet, was just preparing to do that. I am running 10.5.8 on an imac. Would greatly appreciate some fast help!

Thanks

There's a Desktop folder for each User. There's also one In the HD folder. Which one was trashed? I am able to change the name of a file that is in the Trash. Try doing that, then moving it out. Just a whim.

Are you in OS X? As in you'r boot up with that folder in the trash?

Have you tried right clicking on the folder and then selecting Put Back?
