mac screen display problem - freezes and goes white?!

hello, i'm sorry if i've posted this in the wrong thread
quite often now, my macs screen freezes and goes slowly fades to wide
it goes all pixel-y and flashes a bit
to fix it all i have to do is move the screen back and forth a bit and it goes
what's wrong with my mac and is there a way of fixing this?

2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
You didn't tell us which Mac you have, however, I'm going to assume it's either a MacBook or MacBook Pro from your description of the symptom. It might be the video cable which goes from the logic board to the display that is either loose or marginally broken.

haha sorry i'm not very good at doing that! should have learnt from my last question.
ok, so sounds like i'm going to have to take it into the store. do you have an estimate or guess how much it will cost to repair? thank you
