Hi all,

Went on a mad spending spree and bought the following :

New mac mini
ipad 2
iphone 4
apple tv
ipod dock
airport extreme
airport express

oh, and a 50" plasma as a monitor...

Question is :

How can i gt the best from all this, as i feel i'm not optimizing the use of all my hardware. Bearing i mind i have no land line, just the personal hotspot on the iPhone.

Thanks in advance...

I'd say you should identify something you want to do electronically, then determine what "gadgets" you need to accomplish the task. It almost sounds as if you're doing the reverse.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP's post. Sounds like someone didn't do enough research BEFORE buying all the gadgets. That's a lot of stuff to buy all at once!;)

Are you saying you don't have Internet in your home from an ISP? Only 3G data plan?

So you bought an Airport Extreme and an Express? They both essentially do the same thing, and aren't a whole lot of use without a broadband connection.

Before spending all that $$$, some research would have been wise! Next thing on the list is an internet connection!

Buy another 6 iPad2s so you can use them as closed circuit security monitors.

1. Yes, that was a mad spending spree.
2. AirPort Express and Extreme do essentially the same thing, why buy both?
3. No Internet, only 3G? Why?

Other than that, it looks like you spent $2k+, which IMO is a lot to spend when you don't know what to do with it all. The Mac Mini/TV combo is a good idea for a HTPC, but not much for anything else. Return what you can, and then figure out what you want to do, then build the experience you need to do the work.

Seems backward to me to buy the computer then figure out what to do with it...
