Hi ALL
I did a clean install of Lion.
Re-Installed Office 2011 for MAC.

Now, everytime I open Excel, Word or Powerpoint it automatically opens last edited file.
Does anybody know if it's a bug ? Anyway to stop this ?

Just know that it will impact all your apps, not just Office.

Or just make sure to close the app window before you quit the app.

Can you elaborate? I'm having the same problem, but the last file I opened is on a server I can't access leaving me without Excel.

System Preferences -> General -> ?

Thanks!

Or just make sure to close the app window before you quit the app.

And that can be done very quickly with a Commmand-W* followed by a Command-Q

*or Shift-Command-W for Safari, for instance

Thanks for posting the solution -- an interesting decision by the OSX Lion team to include re-opening windows as a default. Clearly moving the O/S toward being more like iOS where there is no file structure, just apps and data. For me, it was really freaking me out to open a document from the Finder and then get a different document when the app launched!
