Hello folks,

While downloading an application it got hung in the middle. It's not responding nor downloading but the icon is there. While trying to delete it is not even jiggling, how can I remove this ? Thanks

I assume (maybe wrongly) that you are talking about an iPhone or iPad APP. If so, do a hard reset by holding the sleep and home buttons until you see the Apple. After restarting you should be able to delete the APP.

Thanks Razormac, was concerned about the iPad. Yeah, after hard reset the application started to download which means I can manage it once its through. With the smart cover the thought of shut down never comes in mind! By the way how good or bad is it to hard off MacBook or an iPad on a day to day basis. I usually put them on sleep mode.

iPad not an issue at all as far as I know. For the Macbook do a thread search and you will find much debate on this. Doubt it causes any problems to do a daily shutdown but I personally don't see much point in it either.

I shut my iPad down only when/if I need to do a reset (fairly rare). And my MBP and MacBook about once a month.
