iBook G4 trackpad acting jumpy

and by jumpy i mean when using one finger my mouse jumps around. and sometimes when im like 1 - 3 cms above the pad it just moves. it is really hot in here, if that affects things like my hands.

Did you try hooking a mouse see if it acts the same?

actually my mouse does jump around sometimes, but i think its just the mouse...

Yeah - the iBook's trackpad does this sometimes... Mine is fine for days and days, and then it will freak out again...
I think if your hands are sweaty it makes it worse..

Interesting. I've had this problem, too. a reboot ususally fixes it, but I would like to know what causes it and if there is any way to prevent it or fix it without rebooting.
