Greetings!

Jenn here...new to all of this and grateful for the help I'm hoping to find here. First time Mac owner and feeling like a dinosaur in the technology age. :)

Welcome aboard. Always nice to see a new face around here. You'll find lots of helpful Mac users here. Some new and some that are "vintage".

Welcome, Turon.

Ask away. Look at the Forum structure and post any questions you care, if possible, in the category appropriate to your needs. Get quicker responses that way.

I think you will find that you have come to a friendly Forum.

Welcome Turon, but I dare say that most of the various user customizations many used to do have been cut out or disallowed by the MotherShip with recent Apple OSs. But there are still a few gaps left open to allow one to "tool their Mac". :Smirk:

Just saying "hi"

Hey guys,

my name is Raphael, I'm from Germany and since I'm soooooo happy 8+ (and been with my 4, 5s, 6s) and my iPad and in Need for a new Laptop, I'm here to look into macOS to prepare my upcoming purchase (MacBook Pro 13).
Looking Forward to read all those discussions and getting involved in some threads.

Greets

Raphael

A warm welcome to Mac-Forums, Raphael.

We have members from all over the world. We'll do our best to help.

Be aware the the new owners of these Forums have determined that we should be shut down. It was scheduled for 31 December 2017, but we're still going for now.

Sometime in the near future we shall be setting up our own site at mac-forums.org.

Wasn't a bad bunch until I got accepted. I'm old school, going on 70 years come next August. I don't no "nuttin" when it comes to computers. I have to always ask how to do something especially out of the ordinary. My wife had a computer built for my business back in the early years before they were readily available on store shelves. I remember going into my office the first morning before my wife came in. I found the power button, and the screen came to life, and was bright blue. That's all I knew what to do, the builder said I could never fill it up to the capacity that it would hold. It wouldn't hold squat, one program and it was done. Wife wanted it to do my books for the CPA, she was tired of having to do three sets of books. Now I can't even spell any more without computers. Life is good, Praise God we're both still here, and our son just gave us our first Grandchild, Cora Sinclare this past January!!

I grew up using a manual typewriter, it was married & had children before Bill Gates had a branstorm about Micosoft. I did a copy & paste, of you question, and a few hits came up about your question. I like you, joined this site to find out how do things on this computer. I hope that helps

Hi, I have a question about some really old Apple software, Appleworks v6
Where would I post my question?

I would think the macOS - Apps and Games forum would be the place:
http://www.mac-forums.com/macos-apps-and-games/

Unfortunately we lost the use of Appleworks v6 after OS S 10.6.8. Well, at least those without at least a 2011 iMac did as that's the latest iMac that could still run SL OS X 10.6.x.

PS: Personally I wouldn't call Appleworks v6 a "really old Apple software" application!!!!
Its predecessor ClarisWorks yes. That's getting old. :Mischievous:

For some AW/Claris history and info etc:
