Having had my imac for two and half years i can honestly say that i would not go back to the windows side of things , i have a 27 inch imac with 12 gb installed and a 1tb Seagate hard drive as a time machine back up , also using the ad block and bit defender traffic light from Safari extensions , the large screen is very good for building my website of Northern Ireland Photos and with the extra ram installed it is very quick in editing the photos using the Pixelmator software , lastly , although my imac is now out of warranty , three weeks ago when the problem of the ethernet connection arose , Apple care where on the ball with my phone call and all sorted out at no cost whatsoever , and thanks to this forum , i can keep up to date with all the news and info that i need for my imac use ,would i recommend imac to my friends ???YES

dotjoe, I'm with you about windows, when I switched to Mac and after getting aclamated what got me was all the time I wasted on Windows!

Kind of depends what specific topic/topics you are interested in. Check each topic area for "Sticky Threads"…which contain commonly asked info.

Hi,

I'm quiet new to the forum as well, but not to macs. Got a MacPro from 2009 as my all day machine, a Mac mini Server from 2012 as my gaming server, a MacBook Pro from the end of 2008 as my LapTop to go and iPhone 6s. I also got a PowerMac from 2005 as I had it as a fun project.

Mostly I use the MacPro, I'm 18 years old, from Germany and like to experiment with that stuff if I'm not just gaming

As my dad is a Mac user from day one, I never had something else as a mac. The first mac I got from him was the first iMac, later he upgraded me to a PowerMac from 2001 or so. Also had a PowerBook, nice litte thing Nowadays I got my own Macs and I'm super happy with them.
