Hi,

I want to install windows XP on my iMac (i5, 3.1ghz, OS Lion), but bootcamp asks for a windows 7 CD and won't recognise the XP CD.

Why is this ?

Unfortunately, as newer versions of hardware come out, fewer vendors are making drivers for Windows XP now that the world has moved on to Windows Vista/7. At this point, most of the newer Macs don't have driver support for XP and so Boot Camp no longer offers the option.
