Primate Labs GeekBench 2 shows the following for these two Macs:-

Mac Pro 2009 2.26GHz Quad Core 11,803

iMac current 2.7GHz Quad Core 7,863

The Mac Pro will be much faster, some 50%, but of course you then need a display.
