Which cable for iPad / iPod (?)

I can't remember which inter-connecting cable is for the iPad and which is for the iPod! Will it do any harm if I use the wrong one? I'm guessing the the cable with the smaller white multi-connector is for the iPad. Is that right?

Which cable?

Responding to my own question in case it helps someone else. I've discovered that the cable with the smaller multi-connector is indeed the one for linking the iPad to the MPB.
