Mail Read Receipt

Is there a way of requesting a read receipt in a mail? There was on my windows PC so there must be on the Mac. Thanks.

Not really. But the bigger problem is that read receipts are not a standard internet function which means unless you're using the same email clients, sometimes even on the same network, the read receipt may not function or it could be completely unreliable.
