So I upgraded to Lion

But, being so new to Mac, I'm not sure what is better and what is not.

I do think the old email appearance was better. I did like being able to see email being sent and received by that little progress bar.

How does one uninstall Lion and go back to using the other OS?

Way... way too many specs to list.
Format the hard drive and clean install the previous OS. OS's really aren't something that can be 'uninstalled'.

You can change Mail to the classic appearance in Preferences.

Thanks Mike. I guess I'll just get used to the new Lion. Maybe eventually it'll turn into a Lamb!!!!

Tawcat, the mail progress bar is still there, bottom left hand corner, click on the centre symbol with the upward facing arrow in the box. Reclick to remove the info.

Cool beans. I had to click the "show" box in the upper left hand corner!!!!!!

BTW you can click one box and go back to the way Mail looked. In Preferences/Viewing. Click Use Classic Look at the top.

Yep. But if you always want to go back, do a clean install with the SL disk. Sadly you can't do this with the new machines that ship with lion :/
