Lion Won't Let Me Select My HDD

When I run the lion installer I get to the select your HDD page, I get the following error.

This disk cannot be used to start up your computer

Any advice?

How many hard drives do you have in the machine? And it would help us to help you if you would give us some info about your Mac and its specs.

Mac Mini i5 (2014 High Sierra), iPhone X, Apple Watch, iPad Pro 12.9, AppleTV (4)
As a place to start I'd run repair permissions from disk utility and see what that finds.

System Specs:
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
HDD 220 Gigs.

I recently had my HDD replaced, so I have about 210 gigs free. My HDD is 250 gigs. I have a second partition with Ubuntu installed on it as well. I had rEFIt installed but I have since removed it.
@mrplow: I did that I ran the disk utility and everything checked out.
