Hello,

I bought a new Airport Extreme Base Station and I'm very satisfied with it. My only problem is that when I plug my external HDD into the USB port, I cannot access it either from my Mac or my Windows PC. However, the HDD is displayed as connected in the Disks pane of Airport Utility.

Any suggestions as to what I might have missed?

P.S. The HDD is a 2.5-inch one without external power supply, 250GB, NTFS.

You need a powered hub for that drive or purchase a powered external drive.
