Is the Appleworks on my Tiger full-version or Trial? Isn't it a retail product?

If you mean the Appleworks that came with your iBook - then no: That's a full version that comes for free with your iBook, just like Tiger, iLife and the games.
It doesn't come for free with powerbooks for example.

Now if you went out and bought Tiger, it wouldn't come with Appleworks.

It is a full version and yes, it's a retail product as well, just as iLife '05 is (which includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand).

Appleworks is bundled with every new consumer Mac (eMac, iMac, iBook, Mac mini), while iLife is bundled with every Mac, including PowerMacs and PowerBooks.

They both are not part of Tiger, but part of the software bundle included with your Mac. Only MS Office and iWork are 30-day trial versions.
